Valerie went to school at Cumberland Institute of Holistic Health in Brentwood Tennessee.
In school, and after as continuing education, she has studied; Swedish Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, CranioSacral Therapy, Acupressure, Cupping, Abdominal Work, Reflexology, Hot Stone, and Myo-fascial work. Massage has always been a passion for her, and she loves figuring out how her skills can help the person on her table.
It amazes her every day the pain that she sees people living with and still going on about their daily lives. She knows this takes a toll on people. It changes the way we interact with each other. When we can free ourselves from even a bit of that pain, we can change the world. That is why she loves her job. Even when people come in with no apparent stress or tensions going on, she is mindful that physical pain is not the only reason to seek out massage. It also calms the mind and gives you a fresh outlook on life. She has had massage help with depression, anxiety and insomnia. It isn't always about the physical knots in our body, there are emotional knots also.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her family, she has three teen girls!!! She is usually running them to activities, joking around with them or helping them with their school. As a family they try to go hiking every week or so. Oregon gives a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nature. She also enjoy going to the gym and knitting. Though she does not knit at the gym :)
